What is Psychodynamic Counselling?

Counselling offers an opportunity to talk in confidence to someone who is not involved in our personal circumstances. Psychodynamic counselling involves exploring how our past experiences can affect how we react to situations or handle relationships in the present. Recognising patterns in our lives and relationships, and acknowledging what has made us the people we are, can help us to understand ourselves better. Talking and reflecting on our lives within a supportive relationship enables us to gain a more helpful perspective. We can then make more informed choices about our present and future lives.
